What is a MINIATURE SILKY?
A VISUAL STANDARD
of what a Mini Silky should look like.
Miniature Silkies are set apart from other breeds of goats by their
beautiful
long flowing silky hair coat. The longer the better!! They grow facial
bangs,
and nice long beards. Hair coats come in a varity of colors, their eye
colors
can be a beautiful sky blue to a marbled blue, to brown.
They can be
polled
(horneless), or horned. They are "small" in appearance, but carry a good
uniform body conformation. Does should stand at the withers 22.5 inches
tall, and not exceed 23.5. Bucks should stand 23.5 inches at the
withers,
not to exceed 25 inches. We at Nazworthy Acres strive to breed Miniature
Silkies that carry correct conformation and are healthy, happy, people
friendly goats that are handled by us daily. We purchase our "breeding
stock" only from breeders that breed with these same goals in mind.
Miniature Silkys make EXCELLENT Pets!
What breed is the Miniature Silky goat?
The
Story of how the Mini Silky began...
Many are the "smaller in height" long haired Myotonics (Fainters).
Some Miniature Silkies have, and can be, crossed with the Nigerian
Dwarfs...this is NOT a requirement, but it IS accepted.
NOTE: Minature Silkys are NOT required to have to "Faint"
