OTHER KNOWN NAMES
These fine goats are known by many names. Here are a few... Myotonic Goats, Tennessee
Fainting Goats, Stiff Legged, Wooden Legged, Nervous or Fainting Goats. Actually in reality
they do not faint, and are very aware of their surroundings. They do 'not' pass out, their
muscles
lock-up. This condition only lasts a few seconds, then they are up and back on their
feet. |

BREEDING
Our fine animals are purebred and registered with the MGR Myotonic Goat Registry. Myotonic goats should be taken seriously for the multi-purpose and functional goat that they are. At this moment, they are listed with the American Livestock
Breed Conservancy as a 'rare' breed. We, along with other serious breeders, are trying to
change that. We are dedicated to the improvement of the breed to help them become the best
they can be. Studies from Virginia State and Virginia Tech Universities show that these goats
are self-sufficient more than any other breed. Does are easy kidders with an ample milk
production.
HEALTH
We aim for a disease-free herd here at NAZWORTHY ACRES. Myotonics do have a good
resistance to parasites and disease, making them easy to maintain and on the way to becoming
a
very desirable and sought after breed! Along with sensible health management, these goats
are
so well-mannered, that all you need to do is add the love! They will be your companion
and friend
for years to come.
Health certificate and vet work will be done at the buyer's expense.
